How To Clean Your Charcoal BBQ or Gas Barbecue From Top To Bottom
Clean your barbecue top to bottom
The last barbecue of the year is a tempting one to leave “as is”: food caked all over the grills; ash still in the bottom; tomato sauce covered ignition button. We’ve all done it, but you are risking both severe annoyance come your first barbecue in Spring, and more importantly you will shorten the life of your beloved Grilling Machine. Whether gas or charcoal, we run through a selection of tips to clean and preserve your barbecue throughout the year.
The grill
Life will be much easier if the dirt is loosened before scrubbing. A quick way to achieve this is to scrub at the end of a cookout when the barbecue is still warm, and the grime hasn’t had time to cake on yet. If you are still entertaining and don’t fancy it, or just forget, then there are still options available. For lidded barbecues, a neat way of softening up dirt is to place a water-soaked newspaper or equivalent inside and use a gentle heat again for 30 minutes or so. This will basically steam clean the entire inside, and you will laugh as you gently wipe the dirt afterwards. Obviously this is easy for gas models, but if you have charcoal try using a few small pieces of wood or other easily combustible material to get some heat going, or just a few coals if you must. Keep an eye on the newspaper though and make sure it doesn’t burn or you’ll have more mess on your hands! Whether you steam or not, chemical cleaners are also a good option. Remove the grill and place on some newspaper, and spray liberally with oven cleaner or other spray on cleaners (like you would use in Your Kitchen) and leave for an hour or so.
Now it’s time to get scrubbing. Don’t use balled up pieces of foil on your nice brand new Barbeque Grill, instead make use of special scrubbing stones or even scrapers which you canl purchase to break off difficult, brittle grime. Much softer mess can be taken off with a normal soft cloth or even skillet scourers. Be cautious with enamel-coated Gas Grills, you need to release grime very well first and then make use of a mild pressure as possible. Lastly, give the barbeque grill a good wash and leave in order to dry up.
Inside
For those who have were able to steam-soften the inside of the bbq itself then things ought to be simpler. For straightforward grilling with charcoal bbqs, scoop or tip away any kind of coal mess, as well as clean up the final bits with some damp kitchen roll. Now clean the areas down with a gentle cloth covered in spray solution, lightly scrubbing any kind of persistent places. In the event that there are places that have burned on food you cannot get rid of, you might have to spray on some stove cleaner and leave for some time but read the solution instructions to ensure it’s suitable for the surface in question (i.e. enamel, painted, steel and so on). Don’t worry about the base where the hot coals sit because this is unlikely to be looking great because scuffs and burns develop here. So long as it’s clean and free from aged waste materials you will not get any kind of unpleasant odours in the next cookout. Gas bbqs can be a little more difficult. Numerous places could be cleaned out just like the techniques above, however gas outlets and lava rocks etc add extra work. Begin by getting rid of any kind of lava rocks or ceramic coals and put all of them into a bucket of warm soapy water. If you’re able to now thoroughly clean round the burners and flavouriser bars with ease – excellent. Nevertheless, you might have to get rid of certain parts to wash them properly, so consult your guide, and don’t forget to not begin removing any gas-ferrying components that you’re unclear about. Place them back again When You‘re done, and wash the actual lava rocks/coals in the bucket if requirements be and wash all of them in freshwater. You might find these require changing after a year or so if they are gathering grime. Lastly, wash the interior of the charcoal or Gas Bbq with a hose pipe or perhaps a bucket of water till it appears nice and sparkly, and replace the actual lava rocks and so on. Replace the actual barbeque grill and stand back to appreciate your work.
Outside
The outside of the bbq is easy. Simply clean it down with a moist cloth, adding an appropriate solution – regular cleaning up liquid ought to be good, but You Can get stainless polishing spray or other material-specific cleansers. Gas control buttons can often be removed to wash, which is essential as you do not want grime to accumulate and trigger tightness. Be cautious with any kind of flaky paint or even chipping enamel – you can always retouch these places but be sure you seek advice from either a guide or even the producer first on what precisely to use. Once thoroughly clean, buff the outside with a dry cloth and add any kind of preservative films you want. Many people recommend cleaning down stainless versions with oil (even infant oil) to keep the elements at bay, but don’t worry too much. It is smart to take time to protect any kind of wooden areas though with a dedicated bbq wood oil treatment. Please, please watch out for chemical preservatives or even treatments you utilize somewhere else in the home. Some might be combustible and also have no place on the bbq!
Right now it is all neat and polished, it will be prepared for the following cookout. If you wish to reduce work later on, try squirting the actual barbeque grill with oil before you decide to cook to really make it more non-stick. Additionally, when the coal area is looking exhausted, add a slim coating of fine sand which will safeguard this. Remember to cover your bbq or put it in the garage area if you have 1. You will be grateful you did whenever you move it looking all gleaming for the next time

How To Avoid Common Advertising Mistakes
HOW TO AVOID COMMON ADVERTISING MISTAKES
Advertising isn’t hard to do. You prepare an advertisement or
write a classified ad to sell your product or generate interest
to send people more information. But the way most people make
mistakes is either by their inability to write effective ad copy
and by sending it to be published in the wrong publication. Here
are some pointers to follow:
Writing Effective Copy Never try to sell anything costing more
than $5 in a small display ad or a classified ad. First of all,
you don’t have enough room to tell people everything they need
to know to entice them to order.
Instead, you need to employ the “Two-Step” method of
advertising. Request the reader to send you $1 or 4 first-class
postage stamps for more information. When they respond, you will
send them a brochure, flyer, order form and cover letter so they
can place an order for the real product.
Now that pricing is out of the way lets talk about writing your
ad copy. The best way to learn how is to read the ads other
people have written. Don’t copy them word-for-word, but use them
as a guide to write Your Own ads. Once you get the hang of it,
you’ll be writing effective ad copy just as well as the pros.
Advertising in the Right Publication. Although this may sound a
little silly and you think it is only common sense to know this
_ people will often overlook this fact when choosing the
publication they will be advertising in. Instead, they will look
for the lowest price for the amount of circulation they receive.
Unfortunately, this does not work out. Even though you need to
look for good deals that make it easy on your pocketbook, you
will be throwing money away if you don’t pre-qualify the
publication you choose.
One way of pre-qualifying the publication is to send for a
sample copy. Most publishers will send them to you free of
charge for the asking. If you don’t know of any mail order
publications, just write to Glenn Bridgeman, PO Box 10150, Terra
Bella CA 93270 or William Lee, Rt 1, Box 10790, Madisonville TN
37354 and ask them to send you some. (Be sure to enclose $1 or 4
first-class postage stamps in with your request to offset
postage costs.) If you tell them you are new to mail order and
are interested in publications to advertise in, you certainly
will find the $1 you spent is well worth the effort because both
of these publishers are very reputable, honest and helpful.
Study the publication to see what other people are advertising
and how they are advertising it. Contact some of the people who
sell items similar to your own with the hope of networking with
them. You would be surprised how much free publicity You Can get
just from corresponding, calling and networking with others.
Once you locate a publication you want to advertise in, give it
a try for 3 months. If you don’t get any response or only a few
orders, try another publication. There are millions of them and
eventually you will hit the right target market that will be
interested in What You have to sell.

Nutrition 101 for Kids and Teens
Hey there! If you’re reading this, you’re probably already aware of the importance of a healthy diet for your children. This is essential if you want them to have a Good Life.
When your kids eat, nutrients are extracted from food. This is how their bodies turn food into energy, and energy is what they need in order to live, to do exercise, to think, and to laugh. Their organisms will let them know when they need food by sending them messages (hunger is one of those messages), and it will send them different messages when they’ve had enough food as well. That’s why it is important that they don’t go on eating when they’re not hungry.
Children and teenagers need the same nutrients that adults do, but in different amounts and proportions. Because they’re growing up, it is so important that they eat a variety of Foods From each food group to ensure optimal intake of all vitamins and minerals.
You may want to keep an eye on what your children eat when they’re not at home. You should become familiar with the school menu if your child participates in the school lunch program, for example, but wouldn’t it be much better if your kids themselves cared about nutrition facts?
An old Chinese saying goes: Give a person a fish, and you feed them for a day. Teach a person how to fish, and you feed them for a lifetime. Education is stronger than vigilance. If your child becomes interested in food, he or she will never forget this basic knowledge. For this purpose, You Can send them to cooking classes for kids. Then, they can help you pack lunches for school, including food that’s pleasing and fun to eat, as well as healthy, safe, and nutritious.
A well-balanced packed lunch might include a sandwich with whole wheat-bread and a lean, protein-rich filling, such as turkey chicken, tuna, egg, cheese, or Peanut Butter; fresh fruit and/or vegetables; low-fat or fat-free milk; and graham crackers, Jell-0, or another simple low-fat dessert. Be aware of food safety measures when packing your child’s lunch, such as keeping perishable foods well-chilled.

Just moved away from home and starting your new life?
Just married and want to learn to cook for yourself and spouse?
Trying to impress that someone special?
Tired of takeout and looking for healthier life style?
The reasons can be many.
So how does one begin learning to cook?
Well one of the main answers would be to have access to easy Recipes That You Can make with ease.
But having the right recipes would not be enough without the right cooking tools and equipment in order to prepare and present your meals.
On the next few articles I will try to cover all the basic essential cooking tools and equipment you’ll need to setup Your Kitchen and start cooking.
I will try to cover all the basics like Kitchen Utensils, Kitchen Gadgets and Cookware .
When You‘re all setup with the right tools, you’ll be more than ready to attack the art of cooking with the right Cookbooks and Recipes.
Cooking tools are essential in preparing and cooking your meals.
As with many trades you can never have enough tools.
No matter how skilled in the field one is, the job will never be accomplished without the right tools.
As an example, the top car mechanics in your neighbourhood are probably better equipped with the right tools, than the not so popular ones, though they all have the same knowledge in repairing cars.
It’s the same in the culinary world.
The right “cooking tools” will help your success in the meals you prepare, making you a better cook in the long run.
So how do I know what tools I need in my kitchen to get started?
Well the answer to this is not easy.
I would have to say in answer to this question, is read carefully what cookware and kitchen tools you will need at hand, before preparing those meals.
But we have to start somewhere.
The tools I will be suggesting are basic essentials that any kitchen will need in preparing any kind of recipe.
Kitchen tools that will be used over and over and not collecting dust in your drawers or cabinets.
The list of cooking tools I suggest are the following.
UTENSILS
All-purpose bowls, multisized
Baster/basting brush
Bottle opener
Box grater
Can Opener
Colander
Corkscrew
Cutting Board
Garlic press

Direct and Indirect Charcoal Grilling
The term “direct grilling” simply means grilling food on the rack directly over the heat while “indirect grilling” is grilling Food Without it being directly over the heat source. The decision on whether to use the direct or indirect grilling method should be based upon the type of food you are planning to cook. Smaller, tender or thinner cuts of meat such as hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, steaks, boneless chicken breast, and fish should be grilled utilizing the direct heat grilling method. After the coals are hot, use a pair of tongs equipped with long handles to spread them evenly along the bottom of your charcoal grill ensuring that the area directly below where the food will be placed on the Grill Rack is covered.
The indirect grilling method requires an outdoor charcoal grill with a lid and should be used for larger pieces of meat including large steaks, chicken breasts, rack of ribs, and briskets. Prior to lighting, the charcoal briquettes should be placed in two small separate piles on the right and left side of the grill bottom leaving a space in the middle. The briquettes should then be lit and allowed to burn for approximately five minutes and then a shallow aluminum pan should placed in the empty space which will collect the drippings from the meat. After positioning your grill grid on top, place your meat on the grid so that it lies in the center and directly over the drip pan. The lid of your charcoal grill should then be closed leaving the air vent on top slightly open.
Outdoor Charcoal Grill Safety and Lighting Tips
Ensuring the safety of you and Your Family and friends is an essential part of outdoor grilling and there are several precautionary measures that should be taken when operating an outdoor charcoal grill. When it comes to lighting your charcoal grill, gasoline should never be utilized to light the charcoal and lighter fluid should never be used after the charcoal has already been lit. Any easy and safe way to light charcoal is to take small pieces of paper of saturate them with cooking or olive oil and place the briquettes in the shape of a pyramid covering the paper leaving a small piece sticking out which You Can then light. The oil allows the paper to burn longer giving it time to light the charcoal. It is also recommended that you purchase the highest quality outdoor charcoal grill that you can afford in order to ensure the best outdoor grilling experience.

Chicken and Noodle Soup is Easy to Make
It’s really not that difficult to make great tasting Chicken and Noodle Soup. Really! With the convenience of using a supermarket roasted chicken, You Can get incredible flavor without starting from scratch.
When I started testing recipes, I looked through all my conventional cookbooks, gourmet cookbooks, online, etc. All the recipes I found seemed to lack the flavor I was looking for – you know, that great ‘chickeny’ depth of homemade chicken soup? So, I started looking in those Cookbooks From churches and women’s organizations.
Although I didn’t find the exact recipe there, I did have some thoughts that led to my current method. I use a noodle recipe from a very sweet lady who goes to my church, Delores Koster. Her soup recipe is in the St. Francis Xavier, Carbondale, Illinois Cookbook.
The struggle I was having lied in making the stock/broth/base for the soup. That’s when I decided there had to be a better, easier, faster way to get the flavor I wanted without waiting for a whoe chicken, vegetables and some seasonings to figure out how to marry together appropriately.
One night after my daughter’s basketball game, we stopped to get a rotisserie chicken and the grocery store for dinner. My family only likes the white meat, so we have part of the chicken left over. Rather than tossing it, because no one liked the dark meat, I froze the whole thing until I could figure out how to use up the remaining chicken.
My son had been asking for homemade chicken and noodles, and that’s when I decided to give it a try. I added what was left of the rotisserie chicken into water with some vegetables and spices to make the base for the soup. After a couple of hours of simmering on the stove – and it smelled great – I strained the mixture and boned what was left of the chicken. Ironically, my kids don’t really like a lot of chicken in their soup, so this idea works out great for us. And, for some reason, they eat the dark meat in this soup.
I add the noodles and let it simmer for at least an hour or two. Usually, I have towater prior to adding the noodles. The result is really good. It has become one of those meals that everyone looks forward to, and the kids always ask for when they don’t feel well. I guess that’s the true test of chicken soup, right? I hope you enjoy it, too!
By the way, feel free to add new carrots or whatever other kind of vegetables you would like to this soup. My kids prefer to have a bowl of steamed broccolli and cauliflower that they can dip in the broth, so I don’t add anything but noodles to the strained broth for us.
Chicken Noodle Soup
1 Grocery Store Rotisserie Chicken – or the remaining part of one. (If you like a lot of chicken in your soup, you may want to add a chicken breast or two if not using a whole chicken)
1 Medium Onion, quartered
2 Stalks Celery, cut into 2 inch pieces
5 whole Peppercorns
1 T. Poultry Seasoning
1 T. Sea Salt
Water
In a Dutch Oven, or large soup pot. Add all of the above ingredients except water. Pour enough water over to cover ingredients by 1 inch.
Bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer and leave uncovered for at least 1 hour, but preferably 2. I like to start this first thing in the morning to have for lunch, or at noon for an early dinner.
With a slotted spook, or spider, strain chicken, bones, and vegetables out of pot. Put pot back on burner, and add about 3 cups of water.
Bone chicken, reserving meat for the soup. If you would like to add vegetables, especially carrots, do so now. If adding peas, you can wait until the last 10 minutes of total cooking time.
Noodles
1 egg
3 egg yolks
Cold water
2 C. Flour
2 t. Salt
In a medium mixing bowl, add all eggs. Whisk until light. Add 3 tablespoons of cold water and salt and whisk until well blended.
Add flour and mix with a fork until you can gather it up in your hands and form a ball. Depending on the weather, I’ve had to ad a bit more water to bring it together; but, be careful not to add to much and make it sticky.
Let the dough sit for about 5 minutes. This is important because it allows the dough to be rolled out much easier, and less like elastic.
flour the area where you will roll out the dough.
Roll out the dough into a large circle. I get it as thin as I can, about 1/8 inch, although some people like their noodles thicker. If you prefer them thick, you will need to add for time for cooking to make them tender.
Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into noodles the desired width and length you prefer.
Put the noodles into the simmering broth and continue to simmer for at least 1/2 hour, but they are more tender if you have the time to let them simmer for an hour.
You can add the chicken about the last 15 minutes.
Taste for seasoning, because I usually need to add at least another teaspoon of salt at this point.

Kenyan Plantains in Coconut Milk Recipe Cooking Guide
The wonderful thing about plantains is that they truly are a versatile food. As a plantain ripens, its high starch content changes to sugar.
Plantains are good at any stage; it just depends on What You want to make.
Plantains are a relative of the banana, but are bigger, less sweet and need to be cooked before they are eaten. Plantains also keep their shape when cooked, unlike bananas, which get mushy.
Green or “unripe” plantains contain a lot of starch and very little sweetness. Their starchy flesh is used more as a vegetable than a fruit. They can be used in soups, stews, boiled and mashed.
Kenyan Plantains in Coconut Milk recipe is easy to make. If you want to taste or make this type of dish, this page will guide you step by step
INGREDIENTS MAKE KENYAN PLANTAIN IN COCONUT MILK
•3-4 plantains, sliced in rounds
•¼ teaspoon of salt
•1 teaspoon of curry powder
•½ teaspoon of cinnamon
•1/8 teaspoon cloves
•1-2 cups of coconut milk
DIRECTIONS TO MAKE KENYAN PLANTAIN IN COCONUT MILK
1. Combine all ingredients, except the coconut milk, in a heavy saucepan and stir.
2. Pour in 1 cup of coconut milk and simmer over low heat until the plantains absorbed the milk and are very tender.
3. It takes a while for them to get soft; give them about the same time you would need for cooking potatoes.
4. You Can add more coconut milk if you desire. Serve hot and try with fish or curries.
A ripe plantain can be used in savory or sweet dishes. You can pan-fry them with some butter, rum, and brown sugar and serve over Ice Cream. When buying ripe plantains, they should be firm and not mushy or cracked.
When peeling plantains or green bananas, moisten hands and rub with salt to prevent the juices from sticking to your hands.
